Le Mans Ultimate Version 1.3 is coming at the end of March 2026 — and it's shaping up to be the most significant update since the game left Early Access. Here's everything we know about what's coming, from the long-awaited Career Mode to a brand new tyre model and fresh ELMS content.

🎮 Career Mode — Finally Here

The biggest single-player feature in LMU's history is finally on its way. Career Mode has been in development since before the game left Early Access, and it's now targeting a Q1 2026 release — pointing squarely at v1.3.

From the official pre-production reveal and social media previews, here's what we know Career Mode will include:

📋 Contract System — Players will receive team contract offers for full seasons (six races), giving you the feel of a real endurance racing driver managing their career. Early previews showed a contract inbox with detailed race commitments and team expectations.

🏆 Career Progression — Race results will have a direct impact on your career trajectory. Perform well, attract better teams and move up the classes. Underperform, and the offers dry up.

🤝 Driver Swaps in Career — One of LMU's standout online features will be integrated into Career Mode, letting you experience the full endurance format with AI teammates doing stints alongside you. Studio 397 noted they've specifically worked on making the teammate simulation dynamic and interesting.

🎯 Multiple Classes — Career Mode is expected to span all classes, letting you start in LMGT3 or LMP3 and work your way up to the Hypercar grid.

🏎️ Hypercar Tyre Model Overhaul (v1.2.3 — Already Live!)

Before v1.3 lands, the interim v1.2.3 update already delivered the Hypercar tyre overhaul — and the sim racing community is still adjusting to it. Here's what changed:

🔥 New Tyre Feel — Hypercars now feel more 'pointy' at low speeds and have a tighter, peakier grip window. Once they go, they really go — this is a much more demanding and realistic driving experience.

🌡️ Heat Build-up — Tyre warming now takes longer, similar to the early days of LMU. Cold tyres out of the pits require genuine care on the out lap.

⚖️ BoP Updates — All Hypercars received a Balance of Performance pass alongside the new tyre model. Stronger rear wings and suspension, slightly weaker engine reliability to balance out the increased mechanical grip.

🔄 Autoblip Improvements — LMDh cars now have enhanced autoblip on downshifts to reduce rear-end locking, making heel-and-toe less punishing.

📻 Force Feedback — FFB equalisation has been addressed alongside the new tyre model, so your wheel should feel more connected and communicative through the grip limit.

🗺️ New Content — Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya & Duqueine D09 LMP3

Version 1.3 will complete the ELMS Season Pass with the final two pieces of DLC:

🏟️ Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya — The iconic Spanish circuit joins Monza, Spa, Silverstone, Le Mans, Bahrain, Fuji, Portimão, Sebring, Interlagos and Paul Ricard on the LMU track roster. A technical, high-downforce layout with a legendary final sector.

🚗 Duqueine D09 LMP3 — The third and final LMP3 car joins the Ligier JS P320 and Ginetta G61 in the entry-level prototype class. This completes the ELMS LMP3 grid and gives players the full range of machinery from the European Le Mans Series.

📅 When Is Version 1.3 Released?

Studio 397 has confirmed Version 1.3 is scheduled for the end of March 2026, closing out Q1 of the year. Exact patch notes and a confirmed release date have not yet been announced — the studio noted they will share full details closer to launch.

After v1.3, longer-term projects in active development include a console release for Xbox and PS5, and the return of the Le Mans Virtual Series esports competition. The sim racing community is watching closely.
